Officially named Prasat Hin Phimai in Thai, it was built during the 11th and 12th century when the area was still part of the Khmer empire. This day trip is perfect for history buffs looking for some new knowledge!

- Hotel lobby (in Bangkok area)

Let's start by visiting Lam Takhong Dam, situated in the Forested mountains surround by the long and fairly narrow lake. It is a part of a protected area with very little development. Immerse yourself in the nature here!

Afterwards, we'll visit Sorapong Temple, which is the largest temple in Korat. It is a beautiful modern temple and definitely well worth having a look around.

Hungry? Let's have a local lunch near Korat town (Halal menu available).

After having lunch, we'll head to Prasart Hin Phimai. Famous for the Historical Park and its Khmer styled temples it is among the best-preserved in Thailand and similar (if much smaller) to those at Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

Let's stop by at Chokchai Farm for souvenirs and snacks. Chokchai Farm is famous for fresh milk ice-cream and other diary products. Let's have a smashing time here and snack away!

Time to head back to Bangkok.

This was my sixth trip to Bangkok and I was looking for a neighborhood I had not explored previously. This was a fascinating look into the Muslim community. Pitipong was very flexible in our itinerary. For example, I was interested in Date cultivation, and he found a date palm nursery to visit. He was also an excellent driver Probably not the tour for a first time visitor to Bangkok unless you are Muslim.
