Enjoy a scenic bike adventure with a 30-minute train ride from Chiang Mai to Lamphun. Cycle historic streets to the Temple of Phra That Hariphunchai, explore countryside, and savor Thai food by the river. A van is available after 30 km. Continue biking to Ban Tawai's wood carving village and Royal Ratchapuek Park before returning to Chiang Mai.
Meet up at Discova Day Tour Shop Chiang Mai Near Chang Puak Gate (north gate)
Meet at Discova Chiang Mai office at 8.15AM. The bike tour will depart at 8:30 am sharp as we have a train to catch. After a quick bike fitting and briefing, we pedal to the railway station to catch the train to Lamphun.
Bikes on the Train : The 30-minute train ride will take you south from Chiang Mai to Lamphun.
Bike from the Lamphun railway station through quiet streets and lanes past the ancient city wall to the sacred Temple of Phra That Hariphunchai with its imposing golden chedi.
Pedaling out of the city, the bike tour will cut across the countryside towards Chiang Mai, wandering through fruit orchards and along canals. The tour takes a break in a small village on the banks of the Ping River for some deliciously simple Thai food.
After lunch bike across the Ping River and on through rice paddies arriving at the wood carving village of Ban Tawai. Parking our bikes, we will take a few moments to walk around and admire the craftsmanship of the wood carvers.
Cycling the backroads and country lanes making our way through small villages, out across the plain to forested lanes in the foothills of Doi Suthep. Along the way we will stop at an ancient forest shrine of one of the founding kings of Chiang Mai.
